RMweb Gold Richard_A Posted November 24, 2010 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 24, 2010 Did this loco have the different body grills from new? And if so did they get painted in the same way that the other peaks did? Ive tried to find a picture on the web but have been unable to find one

Baby Deltic
I believe the mesh grilles fitted to D9 and D10 were based on the type being used on some American loco's such as F-Unit's at that time.
Poor Old Bruce
Also don't forget that D9 got a new nose, with centre headcode panel, at one end following collision damage.
Supaned
The American grilles mentioned are known as Farr grilles - as fitted to EMD's F Units.
