CSX GE AC4400CW #520 getting a drink on the mainline! (don't let any safety folks near this location!) Norfolk Southern EMD GP40-2 getting a drink via roadside service Norfolk Southern EMD GP38-2s taking on fuel via truck at the fueling point - no fixed equipment Canadian Pacific EMD unit getting fueled at the yard limits - no fueling point here Cascade & Columbia River EMD GP9 #1758 getting refueled (again, don't let any safety folks near this location!) Union Pacific GE ES44AC #5472 getting refueled at the Salt Lake City Amtrak station Union Pacific SD40-2 #3070 getting refueled via out-sourced service Canadian Pacific EMD GP38-2 #3121, 3072 getting a drink from a truck Amtrak FP40H #363 getting refueled and a windshield wiper changed at the Havre Depot in Montana Union Pacific EMD SD40-2 #3565 getting refueled at Las Vegas, Nevada - yard facilities had been removed CSX GE AC4400CW #454 getting a big drink in Erwin, Tennessee Most of these were found by searching for the word fueling or refueling. Prior to the 1970's it was mostly on an emergency basis. 1970's-1980's it was more common for branchline and shortline operations. 1990's on it was common for all types of railroads in both major and minor terminals.
