Simon_R
Evening chaps I wonder if one of you could do me a favour? All of my stock is safely packed away at the moment pending complition of 'operation loft' so i'm a bit stuck for measurements etc. I'm trying to plan the run of the layout and fiddle/storage yard and need some ideas as to how much space i'll need to allocate to stock storage. I'm 80's D&E onwards so i'm likely to need space for full length HST's and WCML/ECML loco hauled as well as MGR trains. Can someone have a bit of a measure if they have theirs set-up and give me some idea how long i should make the storage lines? Cheers
JZ
handy to know what scale. But in 4mm/00 you need around 10' for a full length HST set.
johnb
I'd agree with that estimate for 4mm scale. WCML loco with say 8 x MkIII stock would come out at around the same length. Looking at 65ft coaching stock (MkI, MKII) then a loco and six coaches comes out at a little over 6ft.
Simon_R
oops sorry, yep 4mm 10ft sounds reasonable considering a mk3 is the best part of a foot long plus 2 power cars. Anyone got 36 MGRs coupled up?
