cromptonnut
I like the way you handled the under-board wiring - I'll have to remember that for my next layout. A spare length of flexitrack pinned under the layout works just as well
robgregson1
help needed. i am trying to decide which point motors to use. the point on the very right og=f the layout has lost its spring. i have purchased one seep motor to see if i like them but i don't think i do. i was tempted by the price. i am now looking into splashing out on some tortoise motors. a motor has to be better than a solenoid. has anyone got experience of these with n gauge peco points. do they work okay at this scale. i am not bothered about having dcc points. i want a control panel with switches. Spannerman
Another great looking layout, loving the arty shots. As a beginner i find it helpful to see how a layout progresses from bare boards onwards so am following this closely. Keep up the great work Nik

robgregson1
Not done too much this weekend. need to wait for payday next weekend. i have laid the track on the viaduct and installed the OHLE. i have used an old piece of peco concrete sleeper flexi. this will show the tramway as being new. this all needs fettling and weathering. i have also begun construction of a high rise tower block. i am making a plasticard spinal centre for the building which is then going to have lights at various floors and then covered with smoked perspex. i have only managed to do a few floors before running out of plasticard, about 10-15 more floors to be added. robgregson1
i have today finished off all the main frames of the back drop buildings. they are made entirely of plasticard. they are now going to be sprayed and detailed inside with lights at various points. the buildings are to be hotel, appartmanets and possibly a multistory carpark. i need to get either some car window tint spray or some smoked perspex so that they are not completely see through. robgregson1
done some more work on the backscene tonight. all the floors have had the edges blackened. the buildings have then been covered in clear perspex. this is now going to be sprayed with automotive tint spray. hopefully the floors will stand out. then they are going to be detailed. i need to scource some n gauge equivilent Hilton/ Premier Lodge signs and some office type signage. Guest
Wow, can't believe I have only just seen this layout, looks amazing! Any more progress since the last post, very nice looking building by the way! You got any tips for scratch building and plasticard for a beginner like me? I need to make a multi-storey car park for my layout....
