RMweb Gold beast66606 Posted January 12, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 12, 2011 Hi Bob, Returning to this. I've posted two clips to my YouTube, one with the Panasonic I've used for a few years and one with a more expensive Sony camera that I acquired second hand last year. I've since added a new microphone to the Sony, which means the sound is better, and ambient noise is more controlled, the mic is often several metres away from me now, so the clicking of my still camera is lost, but that's an aside ! The cameras were both mounted on tripods, and were only a few inches apart so it's a pretty good comparison. I've even selected one of those steamy things you like The price difference, if both were new would be about 10X in favour of the Sony. coachmann
Very interesting comparing the shoots. Panasonic has the usual satudated colours whereas Sony is more subdued. Also the Sony has its shutter speed ramped up beyond minimum to reduce speed blurr. I prefer the Sony but then I alwas did. Still got a Sony V900 (in need of a doctor). 250BOB
Hi Dave, Thanks for those shots, very interesting to see the differnt qualities. The colours are a bit vivid on the panasonic....but its ok. But also, I think the panasonic is sharper image too. I'm still in research mode, and will commit when I'm good and ready. But please keep any thoughts and advice coming from time to time. Thanks......................................Bob
