mattog
I notice on Hattons a listing for an R4744 Pullman Bar Car. A search on Google and the Hornby site reveals nothing. Anyone know what it might be?
mattog
Whoops. Make that R4474.
bertiedog
Exactly as listed, new item, it is still to come, from Hornby, a Pullman bar car..... Stephen.
mattog
So why not listed in the 2011 release schedule?
Marty Mc
Hi Interesting I thought this was the only one the "Diamond Bar" done last year. It is up there as you said on the Hattons site. Is it the same as above except another name. Cheers Martin

Marty Mc
Hi Thank you, I never heard of Pegasus and Trianon, where and when did they run? Cheers Martin
mattog
Hi Thank you, I never heard of Pegasus and Trianon, where and when did they run? Cheers Martin Pegasus was the car and Trianon was the bar therefore one in the same. There's a bit about Pullman bar cars here http://www.semgonline.com/coach/pull_3.html
mattog
A 12 wheel bar car would be nice.
mattog
Hattons site now saying postponed from 2011 catalogue and no longer available! Interesting.
deltic56
If it was due for release last year it would not appear as NEW for this year. it should appear on the price list as an "old" item ie with the word new not placed against it. This applies to all carried over products
Wicor Models
Very interesting. I have just checked our order form and there is an R4473 (Maroon Observation Car) and an R4475 (12 Wheel Kitchen Car) but no R4474. Dave
mattog
Here it is on the 2011 price list described as a NEW item. So no, it was never scheduled for 2010 release. http://addlestone-models.co.uk/acatalog/583a.pdf I wonder whether we'd get a response from Hornby or maybe a retailer might have the answer? deltic56
Could be a typical Hornby typo/cock up. All will become clear I am sure
sunshine coast
This is a typo in the Hornby catalogue this is Daffodill Bar car "Diamond" ...correct number is R4387...(which was first released about a year ago and there are now more stocks available ).....not R4487 as it is in the catalogue . R4487 is also listed as a new Pullman "car no. 63"....this is correct . The incorrect R number in the original post has just added to confusion ... I know this all to be correct as I was at Hornby 5 hours ago sorting this particular bit of confusion out !! Regards Trevor ..
mattog
Er that doesn't explain the r4474. I thought Daffodil was discontinued and was replaced by the current The New Century Bar?
sunshine coast
Er that doesn't explain the r4474. I thought Daffodil was discontinued and was replaced by the current The New Century Bar? It does explain......it was an typographical error ....Daffodil is actually listed correctly as R4387 on the Jan 2011 price list supplied with catalogues.....these things do happen especially in the rush to put information out with the new range lists... Daffodil and New Century are 2 separate products ...and Hornby have produced more stock of Daffodil...nothing mysterious ...just supplying a demand... Regards Trevor ... mattog
Okay, got it. Daffodil's back. Shame, I was hoping for something like Pegasus seeing as New Century Bar is actually incorrect. Wish they'd bring the Devon Belle Coach Pack back too! Thanks Trevor.
97403_Ixion
Hi Marty MC, just for reference, The Trianon Bar is used in the Queen Of Scots train (when forming the string of most unusual/antique coaches on railtours/excursions). I think it's the only Hornby 'Pullman'-like coach in the train. So, you could operate the coach on a modern layout and it would look really superb with other antique coaches from the train, such as the clerestory (though need different bogies, I gather!!). Also, for reference, Hornby box p/ns are: R4387 Pullman Bar Car 'Diamond' 'Daffodil' Bar R4418 Pullman Bar Car 'The New Century Bar' Cheers, Ixion.
