avonside1563 Posted January 12, 2011 Share Posted January 12, 2011 Thanks for that, brought back some memories from a photo charter I was involved with using two steam locos, one from the Foxfield Railway and one from the Middleton Railway. I was one of the Foxfield crew and had great fun pottering round the system with 'Lion'. We did get right under the blast furnace with an old molten steel torpedo but it wasn't loaded thankfully, it was heavy enough without and once loaded there was a finite time to get them to the B.O.S. plant 3 miles away before it started to cool too much! When I went on a brake van tour arouns Scunny before Christmas our loco was required to bank a train upto the rod mill - it was pure magic!
