Poggy1165
Went into Aldi today as my missus wanted some cheap compost. Noticed they were selling ultrasonic cleaners for £19-99 and at that price couldn't resist. Having got it home, it just about takes a small O gauge wagon. (A Midland Cattle wagon is just a bit long though I think it might go in with buffers removed.) Obviously not tested the device yet but it should be ideal for 4mm and 2mm modellers in particular. Probably something that will only be there 'while stocks last' so may be worth making a trip out to your local Aldi if you're interested.

Don't I recall reading that if you put a kit-built wagon into such a device you get the kit back?
avonside1563
Are you sure you don't get a copy of it with a different kit grafted in popping out of an identical machine somewhere else.... (a la The Fly)
RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted February 17, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 17, 2011 You should hear what our local jeweller says about cheap cleaning machines - or maybe you shouldn't It might be high on fluid consumption but he found that some of the cheaper ones did cause scratching damage (although I think that was on gold, not brass or whitemetal). Kenton
Don't I recall reading that if you put a kit-built wagon into such a device you get the kit back? Not if it has been built correctly - with solder not superglue.
craigwelsh
Mine's been going strong for a couple of years now, I use it after every soldering session. They turn up sporadically in Aldi and have been steadily increasing in price during that time too.
