Their first run of green 108s had the later arrangement of two separate pipes, whereas the real things had the pipes meeting in a box above the gangway as built. This is what Bachmann modelled correctly on their subsequent green 108 releases. Looking at the Rails photo it's hard to tell but there seems to be a hint of separate pipes again. Perhaps they specified a re-run of the first release with different numbers, so that is what they got, correct with the number position error on one side and possibly the wrong exhaust pipes?
