lmsforever Posted March 7, 2011 Share Posted March 7, 2011 Just read that someone has lost? the stored front end of a tram this was relasised when they moved from Kelvin Hall to the new museum ,I bet someone is going to answer a few probing questions.Mark you this would look good in the back garden with a screen in front anyone for a retro trip round Glasgow! PLD Posted March 8, 2011 Share Posted March 8, 2011 It is (was) part of a large collection of artefacts donated by a Dr Macdougall in the mid 1970s. Several items both from Dr Macdougall's collection and others were apparently found to be missing when they did the first stock check in 30+ years. The theory being followed for some items it that they were loaned to other museums and either not recorded at the time or the records have since been lost, and the current holders have 'forgotten' where they came from... Reports conflict over whether the tram front was complete or in pieces. If the latter it probably would not be recognisable unless you knew what you were looking for.
