scaro
Hi I model TT narrow gauge (3'6" prototype) so I scrounge what I can use from other scales. I am wondering if anyone knows any good source of 3'7" or 3'9" HO narrow gauge bogies, in the UK? Either HOn3 or HOn30 is OK. these would scale to about 5' in TT which is fine. One option is the old Farish N diamond frame bogies (as on the sulphate wagon etc) but I cannot recall what wheelbase they are. If anyone who has a pair of these and some calipers can enlighten me as to the wheelbase, I'd be eternally grateful. (well maybe not eternally, but for the next day or so at least . . . ) Also, can anyone identify the HO 2'6" bogie at the bottom of this page, as it looks quite close to what I would need: http://members.optusnet.com.au/duttonbay/ Cheers Ben
RMweb Premium Mike Bellamy Posted November 18, 2009 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 18, 2009 Hi Ben I was going to suggest my friend Paul Martin who trades as EDM Models - most of stock is On30 but he does have some HO illustrated here but it's out of stock http://www.ngtrains.com/Pages/HOn3/Micro_Trains/micro_trains.htm#4_Trucks Email Paul and he may be able to tell you if more are expected and might be able to confirm the wheelbase - however he has been quite poorly over the past few weeks so don't expect an instant reply Mike
RMweb Premium Nile Posted November 18, 2009 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 18, 2009 The Micro-trains trucks scale out at about 4'6".The Blackstone H0n3 archbar trucks scale out at about 3'6",but are not easy to get hold of in the UK. Also, can anyone identify the HO 2'6" bogie at the bottom of this page, as it looks quite close to what I would need: http://members.optus...m.au/duttonbay/ Cheers Ben I don't see any bogies on that page. scaro
Just to say that I did order a couple of sets of the Blackstone 3'7" (HOn3) bogies from Paul at EDM Models and got good service and advice. And the bogies are damn nice moldings and bang-on right for TT scale. I've posted a shot of them with Farish 6.3mm dia spoked wheels here: http://www.nz120.org/forumtopic/comparison-between-tt-and-n-truck Ben
