JGA livery

Recommended Posts

hello apoligies if this is in the wrong section, but i am looking for clarifaction, i am in the process of creating rake or 2 of tarmac JGA wagons, i was looking in my local model shop and cam across some second but htey appered to be in a strange livery instead of being all white like Bachmann model like this http://www.ehattons.com/StockDetail.aspx?SID=38631 but these models had grey lids as tho they were a partial repaint is this an actual livery variation by Bachmann or a repaint by a previous owner

The first batch of JGAs that Bachmann produced in the white Tarmac livery did indeed have grey hopper doors on the top and grey wagon ends - presumably the same grey from the old Tilcon livery. Later batches have been all over white. Which is correct to the prototype is a different question, its difficult to tell on photographs whether those areas are white paint or grey paint covered in limestone dust.
