brian777999
On page 96 (figure 243) of the book "Great Western Engines - Volume 2" by Russell, there is a photo of a petrol/electric railcar. I thought this would make a very unique model in its crimson lake colour scheme. Does anybody produce a kit for this ? I have not seen anything remotely like it before. Nick Holliday
I think you've answered your question already. Definitely a long shot, the prototype was unique and not very long lasting, and very little has been published about it. The nearest you are likely to get, at the moment, is the Worsley Works NER petrol electric autocoach (a scratch builder aid etching), although this is a bogie type, or the Steam and Things KESR steam railmotor, which is a four wheeler. There are other items in the Worsley range, such as the KESR Ford railcars, that are equally unusual. Various manufacturers have, in the past, produced etched kits for other railcars, such as the Southern / WC&PR Sentinel railcar, but I don't think they are still available. brian777999
If anybody has ever scratchbuilt a kit of this railcar then I would love to see a photo of the completed model.
