RMweb Premium Mike Bellamy Posted June 8, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 8, 2011 I'm not aware of any others. The main plastic kit manufacturer in the scale is Chivers but nothing there http://www.slimrails.co.uk/index016.5kitspage.html I did wonder about Smallbrook (resin) but not on his website http://www.smallbrookstudio.com/page4.php Not from Phil Traxson at Port Wynnstay either http://www.ngtrains.com/Pages/Port_Wynnstay/portwynnstay.htm Perhaps build a 'master' for one of the resin casters to produce a rake of wagons for you Mike
sir douglas
thanks mike, -ive just had a look at slimrails but nothing interesting there -ive always liked the look of smallbrook wagons and will always be a plan B -the port wynnstay FR/WHR coal wagons look nice -im not going to fuss around with a custom kit, because i only want four wagons, but i havent thought about it before. although it looks like im being fussy with this (sorry)
SidSanders
I have a fair few of the whitemetal wrightlines kits, and they were not too bad to build, but I did go on and produce 4different hopper masters for eventual casting in resin. These would give the standard (aka wrightlines version) in two forms (curved and straight top end planks) and the two smaller hopper bodies (again curved and straight top end planks). I also prodced the masters for the side door straight sided coal wagons at the same time, giving 5 different types of wagon. I have not a clue where they are now, somewhere in my store, but I moved on from Snailbeach as I finished the layout I did. I may see if I can find them, but they aren't anywhere near my priority modeling wise. If you can get your self down to snailbeach there are a couple of real ones there, and a copy of tonk's book, a pile of plasticard and strip and a few afternoons work and you can then make a fair few yourself!
