Mark 37
Hello all, I've been looking at some classifieds for Heljan class 47's. Some have mentioned old style wheels. Can someone tell me what is the difference and do the bodies still swap over on both types of wheel sets? With being different (old type wheels) are the chassis different? Thanks for your help. craigwelsh
Heljan now supply decent NS wheels instead of wheels that I think are some sort of brass. The new wheels are a better material but are identical in how they fit to locos and have been offered as a spare for retrofitting to older releases. Mark 37
Craig, Thanks for that. I'll look into the spare/newer wheels as I've finally managed to get hold of a class 47 in Scotrail livery. Many thanks for taking the time to answer. Mark
RMweb Gold CovDriver Posted July 2, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 2, 2011 I know howes of Oxford carry the replacement sets of wheels for the early Heljan models I may need some myself soon for expanding fleet of class 47's. But what I'm after now is a BR blue 47 bodyshell as I don't really want to go down the repainting route !!
Mark 37
Cov, I was on there website last night £14+£3 postage, I'll shop around and see if I can get cheaper postage. Is THIS any good to you. I have nothing to do with the seller. Best regards, Mark
