That said, TramPower is much more light rail than many heavily - and expensively - engineered 'light rail' projects. Their prototype tram hasn't turned a wheel in 4 1/2 years since it's last trial period in Blackpool ended rather badly and atracted a rather critical report from the RAIB... The timescales are ambitious - the webside says "a demonstration line will be in operation in early 2011": well we're over half way through 2011 with no start of construction yet... I'd love to see a viable low-cost light rail system succeed but not holding my breath on this one... Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
