Modelling tools

Recommended Posts

Can anyone recommend a mail order supplier of reasonable quality modelling tools?

I'm after drill bits, files, a small vice, pliers, tweezers etc. All the usual suspects really.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Squires will do all of those, however I tend to buy my drill bits from ebay avoiding the sets and buying packs of an individual size as and when I need them.

If Expo tools are available mail order then they are a reliable source.

DCC Concepts do a good range of the more unusual tools and are usually available through BromsMods on here.

Then there is Eileens Emporium also on here but more a wider range of hardware related items there.

Expo are at http://www.expotools.com/ Mind you, ordering via the website is a little archaic, to say the least. First you look in the index for a link to a pdf of the relevant catalogue page, then you fill in the online order form by hand... :scratchhead:

Otherwise Eileen's and Squire's as mentioned by others.

As well as Squires, can I also mention a trade stand I found at the Midland Railway Centre Railex this last weekend, HobbyHolidays who have the website http://www.hobbyholidays.co.uk/products.php?cat=9

Whilst I have only used their stand to purchase items, I found Phil, very knowledgeable and helpful- with a very wide range of items for scratch builders rarely found elsewhere. They do mailorder.
