RMweb Premium NGT6 1315 Posted August 31, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 31, 2011 As I assume some of you will be aware of, LS Models announced a newly designed series of the various SNCF "Broken Nose" BB electrics in H0 scale about two or three years ago. The first few variants of the AC only class BB 15000 have begun to appear on the shelves in recent days, with the DC only BB 7200 and the AC/DC BB 22200 being scheduled to slowly follow over the next several months. There's one thread on Drehscheibe Online's modelling board with a couple of portraits of these initial BB 15000 variants. They all represent this class in its early years, when it was not fitted with snow ploughs yet. Apparently, these were added only after an accident in 1976 which involved 15011 hitting a car which had got stuck on the tracks, causing the loco and a dozen wagons to derail and tumble into a canal. http://www.drehschei....php?10,5524531
Raffles
Beautiful models. How much would one of these cost? As much as I want a Jouef CC6500 or CC21000 I find them a little out of my price bracket.
RMweb Premium NGT6 1315 Posted August 31, 2011 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted August 31, 2011 Well, € 200 would about be what you should be prepared to spend, though you might, of course, be able to find retailers offering them for less.
Raffles
Oh. More waiting then...
Mike at C&M
Available in the UK through C&M Models in Carlisle. Price is £199.95 A stunning model with loads of excellent detail on them, and where necessary, detailed differences between the various examples of the class are faithfully reproduced. RMweb Premium brushman47544 Posted September 7, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 7, 2011 They do look good. I would be interested to see them compared with the Roco models, which I prefer over the other brands such as Jouef and come in a bit cheaper than these LS Models ones. RMweb Premium NGT6 1315 Posted September 9, 2011 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted September 9, 2011 Well, I guess Roco's offerings will still be sound mechanically, but the mouldings, while providing a fairly good representation of the distinctive shape of these locos, do date from about 1980. RMweb Premium brushman47544 Posted September 15, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 15, 2011 New pictures of the 7200/22200 unpainted samples now posted on the LS Models website (item dated 13/09) http://www.lsmodels.com/Pages/General_F/Home_F.htm Does look promising, but I'd still want to see one compared with a Roco version before shelling out, I think.
