Chris Higgs
I wonder if anyone could help me with a query I have on the springing on GWR Halls. On the GA drawing (as found ion GWRJ) there are what appear to be compensating beams drawn between the springs on the coupled wheels. These also appear on the GA of a Saint. But whilst poking around underneath Hinderton Hall at Didcot, I see no such arrangement. COuld this be something that was fitted and later removed, or perhaps it only applies to certain batches of the Halls. Any info would be gratefully received. ozzyo
Hello Chris, yes they are compensating beams on the Hall, IIRC they were only fitted to the first lot and were removed from them later. I'm not sure if all the locos that had them all had them removed. OzzyO.
