Matador
Recently I was sent a PSC American Shay kit to build for a Customer, all Brass etches. Within the box is the Fret (photo attached) of I believe a British 7mm loco parts etch. I enquired of the Customer and he said his Dad was British. Can anyone identify it. Kenton
Not much help and there is not much left - but I think it might be a tender footplate - whatever it is there is a lot more missing than there is left to work with.
RMweb Premium Grovenor Posted September 15, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 15, 2011 Those side valances look like they may be for the coupling rods of a 2-4-0, the main splashers being missing. Keith
Matador
I was just wondering, just thought if anyone can use it. David
21C4
Hello David, I would (almost) put money on it being the footplate and splasher faces for a LNWR King George V class 4-4-0 tender loco. Search the web for some pictures and see if you agree. John
Davey
Alternatively it could be for a L.N.W.R. Precursor class 4-4-0. Dave
Crewe North
My money's on it being for a LNW 'Jubilee' class 4cyl compound 4-4-0 perhaps from the old Modellers World kit for same. the long cutouts for the larger 7ft diam wheels and the two slots either side of the front mounting hole for the valve chest cover sides lead me to this conclusion.....but I could be wrong
Matador
If anybody wants it you can have it just give me a name and address I would hate to trash it if someone can use it. David A Brit in the USA
Johnson044
Yes please- I have a slowly accumulating collection of bits for a freelance 4-4-0 and those coupling rod splashers would save quite a bit of work with a piercing saw. Please could you let me know how much the postage would be from the US?
