jwealleans
Two questions relating to the BTK I'm presently working on. I know a set of steps were fitted and I have a good picture by Dick Riley in Steam in East Anglia p 34. Questions are: Are there any drawings of the fittings? Just to ensure I'm as accurate as I can be. Were they fitted both sides? I'd assumed they were corridor side but this one is at the door to the rear compartment. I'm pretty sure I have a photo of the corridor side of one of these but can't locate it right now. The coach in question is E62386E which formed part of the Framlingham branch set. coachmann
The coach (E 62445 E) will make a lovely model. Can't help with the steps though. The 'teak' looks simple enough....plain light brown and no graining. I like the maroon droplight!
MiDAS
A picture of the retractable steps appears on Page 131 of the Mildenhall Branch. It shows the steps on the corridor side of brake third dia 527/529. The photo above it shows the train formation and it indicates that the corridor side would be the side used at the three halts on the route. Don't know if this helps.
