Bill
I bought a brand new ViTrains Class 37 - however the one of the clips on the gear box was broken and it needed a replacement gear box unit - The supplier (so far) has not come up with a solution, so I sourced a new gear box from the Loughborough Model Centre, which has now arrived. Does anyone have any experience in fitting one of these, and is willing to explain how to do it? It is probably very simple but it is good to know how things come apart in order to prevent unnecessary damage...
Horsetan
Is this the relevant part? http://www.ttcdiecast.com/ekmps/shops/loughboroughmo/images/vts72005pi-vi-trains-class-37-gear-box-11436-p.jpg
Bill
Yes, That is it - You actually get two for your money - one for each end. They come loaded with grease and wires attached (no need for the soldering iron) - and as I found out last night, having decided to take the plunge - a breeze to fit! The bogies, wheel sets and worm drive cover just pop off and then pop right back on to the new gear box. I really did not need to ask for help - but thanks, Horsetan, for responding.
