Coldgunner
I just picked up Hornby magazine and it came with a demo for trackmaster. I've installed it and had a brief play, but I couldn't help but think there was something lacking when compared to xtrackcad and anyrail. Unfortunately, Hornby only supporting OO gauge has kind of shot themselves in the foot in a way. I know its logical for them to keep it OO as its what they produce, but I think the competition offers far more flexibility.
Wummyock
Does it only cover Hornby track or are other HO/OO manufacturers included?
Coldgunner
Just Hornby, I'm seeing if I can warm to it but I'm struggling. The graphical depiction of the layout is pretty good, but the user interface is just clunky. I can't seem to copy/paste trackwork, nor can I select multiple selections. BRealistic
Wonder if Peco are watching... and learning? This sort of thing has to be the next step up from paper templates... 'we live in a digital world' after all.

'we live in a digital world' after all. What, Peco who refused to put website addresses in their magazines for a long time? Hmm, might be a while yet The other planning tools mentioned have Peco templates in anyway. Its not surprising Hornby want to flog their own track to people using theirs. Coldgunner
I've been using anyrail to prototype my next layout, theres also xtrackcad which I found a little more complex but equally viable. I found another thing missing, flexi-track. Hopefully I've just missed it though, or its not in the trial.
