Paul.Uni
I've noticed that the Bachmann website has pictures of the following wagon packs in OO gauge: 37-095 'Coal Trader' 7 Plank Private Owner Wagons 37-235 16 Ton Steel Mineral Wagons BR Grey 38-390 12 Ton Ventilated Vans BR Bauxite (Early) and in N gauge: 373-665 14 Ton Tank Wagons 377-965 13 Ton High Sided Steel Open Wagons BR Bauxite I'm tempted by the Mineral Wagons pack. The 4mm - 7 plank coal trader wagons and the 16 ton mineral wagon packs were on show in the Bachmann display case at the Warley / NEC exhibition. According to the Bachmann web site they are due for release during - Feb / March 2012. I must admit I am very tempted to buy some of these tripple packs. RMweb Gold JohnR Posted November 30, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 30, 2011 i would guess from the look of those Private Owner wagons, that they are in early 50's guise... some planks have been replaced without being repainted... good stuff. craigwelsh
The vans look pretty good with the chalk marks and remains of traders labels, its a pity Bachmann didn't vary the diagram though instead of just using the one. The planked wagons are great although a couple seem to have half planks replaced which I don't think happened in reality. The top two planks above the door were continuous on the prototype and I don't think structural strength would be retained if planks were stitched end on. johnd
Have seen the 16ton not bad but by the time they reached thise condition there would be dents and damaged to the sides and ends not undamaged as in the model.
