hi, just stumbled across your impressive exploits after googling "lincoln central track diagram".......

have rekindled my teenage passion at tender age of 55, and as a lincoln lad all my life, am thinking of doing the same as you but in 2mm.

Are you going to be exhibiting your work at any time?

Hi there,

Just discovered your project. Despite very different era, interesting to see another layout using Peco trackwork to represent a real location. Looks like the real thing lends itself well to this. The layout at the east end look instantly recognisable. Nice work.

Hi

Heres a few pictures of the roof as fitted to the stables, i have had to make this in one piece even though the main building spans the board joint, i have to lift off the roof section as a whole then break open the baseboard joint this way when its put up you wont be able to see the joint on the building it seams to work ok

I also removed the old square cornered back scene to the high street end and replaced it with a round one for this i used bendable mdf fixed to brackets made from wood fixed to the baseboard.

This was then covered in the cloud backscene even though the couds dont quite match up it wont matter as the joint is hiddeen by the Great Northern Hotel when i complete it but i need to finish the stables first

Thats all for this update i have a few pics i took to post later.

Now this will be a challenge, John.

Incidentally, would anyone happen to know whether the trade supplies strips of the profiled 'beading' common to Georgian style buildings, such as that running between the ground and first floor windows in the top photograph? Evergreen and Plastruct only seem to supply round, channelled or 'H' and 'I' beams apart from the usual lengths of strip. Nothing suitable either from Scale Link.

Keep up the good work.

Morning John,

Checked when Pelham Bridge was opened by the Queen it was on 'Friday 27th June 1958, the Queen visited Lincoln to officially open Pelham Bridge. The bridge is one of the main routes south of the City Centre.'

So this fits in well with your planned era. I have managed to get to your drawings/photos on RMweb, so when I get my printer sorted will be able to proceed as planned and discussed last night.

Regards

Roy J (LincolnMRC)

Hi

Time for a small update

The angled corner board is now complete and the back scene mdf is now fitted work has started on the road paths and buildings for this area still lots to do to complete it

Also the stables area lighting is now wired and connected to the 4 channel DCC switch, they all work and look great just have to wire and connect the 3 leds for the main building

this will take a while as im using nono leds for this and there a little fiddly to say the least !!!.

I will post some pictures of the new baseboard soon as i take some.

John,

I think I have now got the layout scheme the correct way round. See you Thursday, had a good day at Caistor Show, Richard J and I saw some good and interesting layouts there, hope to show on Thursday.
