Hi

With the Hornby Railroad range releasing this as a model again I was looking for information pictures of the locos. Also would these have survived long enought to pass in to BR?

Shame i would like to have seen 1 in BR livery. I think they are an attractive engine.

Hi there

There was a full article about the GWR 4-4-0 Counties in the May 2010 issue of Steam Days which gives details of build dates, withdrawal dates names, numbers etc together with a number of useful photos showing some variations.

 

I have got an old Finecast kit of one of these with an etched chassis which makes up into a nice looking model except that I am having to sort out the bogie as the instructions seem a bit vague and I cannot make it work properly yet. From looking at the Hornby website I think there is much more detail on the Finecast kit than the re-issue.
