RMweb Premium John M Upton Posted December 21, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 21, 2011 Rail Express January 2012 Edition has arrived with most subscribers, time for a quick run down: Usual news items. Clay Cross July 1977 with lots of rail blue. Class 86/6 Twilight photo feature. New London Underground column (only one page though) Very mucky DRS Class 47 on page 39!!! Nice shot of one of the curious little German shunting locos that Eastleigh Works have just acquired on Page 49. Rail Express Modeller: Most of the new stuff that was on view at Warley is shown. Liking the looks of that Class 143… D&E Layouts seen at Warley photo feature Reviews of Dapol Class 22, Hattons/Dapol LMS 10000, Bacmann Desiro, N gauge 4-CEP and Bachmann BR blue Derby Lightweight and Cravens DMU’s. Also they were not greatly impressed by shape issues with the Heljan Baby Deltic. The traditionally leaked Hornby 2012 D&E releases is NOT present, not a dickie bird!!! jonathan452
The traditionally leaked Hornby 2012 D&E releases is NOT present, not a dickie bird!!! They did make a passing mention that the Hornby 2012 D&E releases will be posted on their website on the 3rd January. However with all the D&E reviews in the issue it almost seemed like an irrelavence.

Jim Martin
Hijust wondering how was the desiro recieved in the review? thanks mark Well, the headline is "Desirable: Bachmann's Class 350 is a winner"; and the final paragraph begins "Overall, this is a fantastic addition to the range of available multiple units", so I'd say they like it.
