Simon Moore
I've just purchased the new Br blue class 37 with split headcodes & dcc sound & is it just me or is the sound recording bad??? I have one of the older dcc sound class 37's & it seems louder & the sound recording seems to be clearer & just better. Is the model i have a duff or is the new sound more of a generic sound ??? Having seem the videos on youtube of the Howes sound i am sold on there sound recordings as being clear & very good. Can my model be sent to them to have there sound fitted?? Dcc & Sound is relatively new to me & i am still just dipping my toes as it was so i just want to be sure. Sorry in advance if this has been covered but i cannot seem to get the search to work. Cheers Simon
Jon020
Simon, probably best to give Howes a call. They might be able to reblow the chip ... a cheaper option than a new chip, although that might depend on what the chip is. There's the speaker too... different speaker and instns can make a big difference. Howes are good for a chat, so that would be my first point of call.., or SWD of course. SRman
You can send the decoder alone (saves postage) to Howes (or some of the other DCC sound specialists too) and they will put whatever sounds you specify from their range, whether it is a LokSound 3.0, 3.5 or 4 - they can do any of these. The OP's is most probably a v4.
