LJC
Can anyone tell me if there is any great difference between the recently released Bachmann Class 25's and the DCC ones previous. For example 25231 which is a weathered release, is the weathering any better from earlier ones, is it the same motor, run better etc. Cheers LJC
'CHARD
Bounce! AFAIK there's no change to the motor/ drive although the recent ones have lights whereas the earliest releases didn't. Regarding the weathering, I think the general consensus is that recent weathered models are done with more subtlety than early RTR efforts. I have the factory-weathered D5072, a model of 2008 vintage, which needs work to get it looking something like. However, the recent Bachmann Peak D186 is a major step forward, and I expect as 25231 is from the same release batch it's of similar standard. Baby Deltic
Certainly the BR blue looks a whole lot better. I think the new weathered class 20 and 25 with faded blue paint is superb.
