RMweb Gold ngtrains.com Posted January 11, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 11, 2012 Just to add a couple of things to Mike's post about our little "do"............ 1. EDM Models / Ngtrains [Me] will be bringing a van load of stock but it won't be everything. If there is something specific you want please let me know before we leave York on the Friday lunchtime. and 2. Not narrow gauge but we will have a bit of 0 standard gauge at the "do" as I have borrowed the Ixiob Hudswell Clarke test model and we'll have a track for it to exercise on. I took it to a little lunch time event today and it impressed everyone who had a play with it
RMweb Premium Mike Bellamy Posted January 12, 2012 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted January 12, 2012 DEMONSTRATIONS There will be a demonstration of building buildings(!) by David Wright as featured in Railway Modeller and on his ’shows you how’ DVD. Keith Gilliver will be displaying his unusual collection of rail mounted military vehicles Ian Thompson will be demonstrating 7mm trams built from plastic card. TRADERS EDM models stock the full range of Bachmann On30, as well as products from many other US suppliers such as AMS, San Juan, Stoney Creek, Banta, PSC and other hard to get items. Paul stocks DCC from NCE and Soundtraxx and kits for some Festiniog locos. The unique Ixion model of the South Australian ‘Coffee Pot’ will be available at a special offer price for the ‘no 1 version’ (plain end). New from San Juan are ready to run Tank Cars and new building kits have just arrived from Raggs to Riches. EDM goes Standard Gauge. Following the success of the Coffee-Pot, Paul has secured a deal with Ixion to have the Engineering Prototype of the Hudswell Clarke 0-6-0 being demonstrated at this event. This is the only model in the country and is the one featured in most of the magazines last month. Orders are now being taken for the final version at a special price of £235. Port Wynnstay will have their full range of both narrow and standard gauge stock available along with other kits and architectural items for buildings. Allen Law from Minimum Gauge Models will have his new range of kits for O9 and Gn15 The 7mm NGA Sales stand will be there with a range of modelling goods including Peco NG stock, Evergreen plastic sheet and strips and Kadee couplings, Publications and Second Hand Sales. There will also be members’ informal 'bring and buy' sales. Just waiting for details of one of the layouts - should be 5 there including one in O standard gauge so that Paul can let visitors run the Ixion Hudswell Clarke loco. That layout will also be for sale - details soon!

RMweb Premium Mike Bellamy Posted January 15, 2012 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted January 15, 2012 Hi Mike, just to let you know I'll be there with the 0 gauge as discussed on tues night. Alan Thanks Alan I was going to publish the layout list sooner but have been let down by someone who hasn't let me have any details apart from name and size (the layout that is, not him !) Anyway - the details are now below - as your layout is for sale, I suggest that you post a description on here and hopefully you will get a queue of buyers wanting to take it home. As it's there as the demo layout for the Ixion Hudswell Clarke loco then the purchaser will have to wait until 4.00pm LAYOUTS The highlight will be our O16.5 layout Henmore, based in rural Derbyshire serving the local quarries around Ashbourne - we have to hire the Community Centre to set it up as the layout is 24ft in its short form as shown here but will have additional boards for the Derby exhibition in May. Anderton - A Maine inspired On30 layout set in the early 30's: this is another long layout that only just fits in the hall, and shows work in progress, brought to us by the West Midlands Area Group. Hofbau Am See - by James Corsi Port Wynnstay Quay. A dockside layout from Phil Traxson built using many of his resin castings. Ramsdale. O Standard gauge by local modeller Alan Cheadle. This layout has featured on RMweb and is being used to demonstrate the new Ixion Hudswell Clarke loco. Layout for sale – please ask for details. Phil Traxson
LAYOUTS Port Wynnstay Quay. A dockside layout from Phil Traxson built using many of his resin castings. . What Mike doesn't tell you is that this layout is "work in progress" , and at long last progress is being made. I think 8years for an 8ft x 1ft layout is pretty good on the procrastination stakes, especially as Ikea supplied the baseboards ready made!
