62613
I once went to a local farm to get some hay for the rabbits we had at the time. I had go and look for the farmer or someone to carry out the transactioin. Ended up in a barn, in which there was a very territorial goose, who promptly chased me back to the car. I tried to shut the door, but the goose was till in the way, trying to attack me, while I was sat in the car. SWMBO was falling about laughing, but the kids were absolutely frightened. RMweb Premium keefer Posted January 17, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 17, 2012 this looks more like 'you brought me a fish, she never does that, I LOVE YOU!!!!' hahaha that said, i've heard from many people that geese are the best guard dogs ever. my girlfriend's grandparents had them on their isolated farm and she says, even if you know them or they you, they can be vicious and relentless and loud! Bon Accord
When I was a lad I lived on a smallholding, and in one field we kept a flock of Emden geese - twas their field and theirs alone, as they used to chase every other living thing out of it on either 4 legs or 2 save for myself and my Father. Even then, during the breeding season it was always handy to keep a 3' length of 2x2 to hand as a weapon as the Gander could get very territorial when his 'girls' were laying - even though he knew us, he'd still escort you all around the field. Big ###### too - stood almost 4' tall!
