Saint Johnstoun
The late Teddy Boston used to run his layout to a timetable with a speeded up clock. I would like to do the same but nowadays cannot get the old fashioned type of clock one could modify to do this. Does anybody have any ideas where I might be able to get something digital to do the same?

Guest Natalie Graham
I dare say you could pick up an old mechanical clock at a local household sale or off ebay, but I am sure electircal speeded up clocks must have been done somewhere. One drawback with operating to a speeded up clock is when it comes to shunting. This tends to take quite a bit longer compared to the operating of through trains at the speeded up time than it would on the real thing in normal time, so it makes it difficult to keep everything running to time. The option to slow or pause the speeded up clock while carrying out shunting operations is worth considering.
