GBMRG
Hello! I think it was an EWS class 67 or class 47/7. Best regards, GBMRG
IanB47306
Class 90s also worked the East Coast (and, I think, West Coast) TPO's.
GBMRG
Class 90s also worked the East Coast (and, I think, West Coast) TPO's. Ah, yes. Sorry, forgot about those electric locomotives! Shocking. In addition to the class 90, weren't the class 86 sub classes used as well? I think the TPO's went up the WCML whereas both the ECML and WCML saw the use of Super GUV / Super BG sets and class 325. I could be wrong and I am happy to be corrected by those more in the know on these things! GBMRG
mjkerr
What sort of time period? I can only remember the Glasgow - London TPO in the late 1980s, the remaining were simply parcel movements This was normally a Class 86 or 90 (occasional Class 87) Others : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rail_Express_Systems By the time the Class 67 locos came along the TPO had ended, but were still used on simple parcel only movements
Mike G
You could always ask these people... http://postalheritage.wordpress.com/2009/04/20/the-travelling-post-office/ They were very helpful when I was researching a set that ran from Plymouth to Manchester. regards Mike
