Bachmann Class 25 (Bachmann 32-330ds) delayed sound effects

Good evening everyone.

A few issues with the above mentioned loco.

1. When the sound is running, we experience a delay in the brake release sound effect. The loco moves off, then a second or two later the brake release sound occurs.

2. When trying to read the decoder using JMRI and a lenz interface on the laptop, there are several options of Loksound chips to choose from. Is it a V4??

3. Also with the JMRI software, we are unable to set the head and tail lights to fade in/out and also set their brighness. Getting an error code (303) on the programmer.

Any help with the above would be most appreciated...

See other posts re the delay in brakes blowing off etc. It's fitted with the Lok V4 which uses indexed CV settings, possibly the reason for not being able to set the light brightness levels. If like the recent Bach 37 releases, the decoder instructions included may well be for the earlier V3.5 not for the V4 as fitted.

Thanks for your reply. It seems that there is an issue with the Bachmann chip, which can only be rectified with a re-blow from another supplier. This is very poor from Bachmann. THe RRP for sound fitted locos should at least mean that the product is fit for purpose.

I'm afraid its a glitch in the early conversions from v3.5 to v4. No drive lock on the brake release sound segment. A two second fix on the original program but otherwise, its a reblow! Bachmann really should volunteer to do this, but I wouldn't hold your breath! kev.
