sb67
Hi all, I've bought a bachman class 47 in inter city livery from modelzone for 50 quid! and was wondering when the class 47s got the cab roof mounted ariels? I've found some pics of this loco (47612) from the late 80's and it's in intercity livery but without the ariels, is this an error on bachmans part? Steve. Raffles
Not really, no. The aerials were fitted to '612 whilst it carried this livery.
cary hill
Have a look at the sequentially dated photogallery on http://www.class47.co.uk/c47_gallery.php?index=2&jndex=2&kndex=11&s_loco=47612. This suggests that the pods were there in 1989 but not for all of 1988. It looks to have been repainted/renumbered as IC Swallow liveried 47838 before the end of 1989, so maybe Bachmann have (inadvertantly) narrowed the operating period or a scalpel is needed?
