Tom J
I've spent quite a while searching but to no avail... I'm detailing a Farish '24' into Highland spec as 24126, using the Etched Pixels conversion etches. This leaves me with bits of roof and nose end in filler, and bare brass all over the place. Question is, since I am going to finish it in weathered state in the run-up to withdrawal, do I really need to respray the whole loco? I have an airbrush which I've yet to use, but is this a case for spraying the nose ends and touching in the blue bits before weathering it all down together? If so, what is the best paint match for Bachmann's own banger blue? I've put quite a bit of time into the loco, it's the first job of this kind I've got this close to finishing... I don't want to bodge it, but I don't want to make work...
Guest 40-something
Hi Railmatch Rail Blue is ok if your going to weather the loco, personally I would spray the whole loco. Apply thin coats and take your time. light colours first. The time and care taken will repay you with a fine finish. Remember to prime first though! Etched Pixels
I used Railmatch acrylic BR blue for mine - the match is very good. I've gotten away with it patching an 04 into an 03 and stuff as well.
