trevoan Posted February 25, 2012 Share Posted February 25, 2012 Hi, I have just built my first gearbox, it is a Markits two stage, unfortunately the worm is stripping the teeth from the transfer gear. I assume I have to get the worm closer on the gear by widening the motor fixing holes. Any comments please before I proceed? Bruciethefish Posted May 2, 2012 Share Posted May 2, 2012 Are you completely sure you have the two gear wheels the right way round, as they have opposite skews, & only one of them will successfully mesh with the worm...
