Soldering iron and electrics

Hi

I recommend as a minimum 32/0.2mm flexible wire for DCC bus pair.

If you want to go for a solid conductor then 1.5mm2 is probably the smallest I would use. Just strip off the outer grey sheathing and use the two insulated inner conductors.

Thanks again for the information, I have ordered the recommended 32/02 wire .

all i have to do now is finalise the layout (ive changed it three times in as many weeks :O ) then start to solder.

Can you please tell me how wide apart for the droppers, 6,12, 18 inches ?

Hi

I recommend one pair of droppers- Track feeds to every length of track. This removes all reliance on the metal rail joiners (Fishplates) passing power (and data too for the DCC user) rail to rail.

Always fit a pair of droppers to every points outer stock rails too.

That's a lot of droppers, but i do understand the reasoning.

Thank you all again for your patience and understanding, i know to some, ive asked some dumb questions ,I was always told, if you dont know , you ask.

I seem to have all the stuff i need now to start this little project, just need the time to do it now.
