muddys-blues
Hi does anybody have one of the new Hornby R6533 models that are advertised as 1980's Railfreight "with the red frame", but looking on the Hattons website the frame looks Maroon, now i know my eyesight can play a trick or 2 on me. Can anyone confirm if the frame is indeed red or more of a maroon shade, sorry to ask this but I am not near any model shops to go and see one in the flesh. thanking you in advance Craig. blueeighties
Hi Craig. Just googled it....deffo looks like Railfreight red to me. Damn expensive these...why not just wait for the railroad version to come out and dirty em up? Won't be that noticeable in a decent rake. Cheers, Lee. Stevelewis
Hi Craig I wouldnt worry too much about the red/maroon shade, when I used to stop for my lunch ( 2 hours)back in the 80s when I was working around Warrington area I used to park up by the WCML near to the Vulcan works and the MGR hoppers were all basically dirty grey, Hauled by 2 class 20s!! Invariably afterwards I would usually go home via Liverpool Tunnel and Hattons, I still regret not Buying any of the Wrenn Streamilned Coronations which were being Cleared for £25.00 Rgrds Steve
