Jack00
Hello all, Well here goes another project to keep me occupied and i thought i would share the progress with RMwebbers... Burnthouse Road is a fast straight section of the London Paddington - Reading line, Fictional, but inspired by my recent trip to London, saw 166's drag racing HST's toword Central London touching 100mph or above. These pictures taken from a HST...Lots of graffiti on the bridges/tunnels. Grotty area lots of dumped rubbish. Also the relief sidings held HST's going through the wash plant, or just being stabeled off duty. Big rakes of abandoned wagons aswel, lots of civil engineered livery dogfish' and sharks, MK3's in old intercity livery and the odd rotten diesel loco with tree's growing out of the cab's. then more central of the lines, freightliner/EWS 66's with long rakes of agragates and ballests. Network rail stock and power parked up aswel. which is all the inpiration absorbed into my head... So here's my attempt to re-create all the thoughts and images. Obviously still in the test stages, but all the track seems to be ok, no jumps or derailments or loco's sticking or juddering (given the track a real good clean). The base is shelving racks designed for tools but they are solid for model railways Each end has a fiddle yard so trains can run from 'end to end' style then the 2 lines furthest away from the front are dummies, so trains can be stabeled like engineers trains/HST's or just a short rake of wagons/loco's etc. the 2 lines at the front is an up/down style for trains to run between fiddle yards. The scenic board, i sprayed with humbrul brown and added a few details, but i havn't ballested the track as im going to experiment with a few ideas before hand, like possbily sand for ballest or...even better... snow/winter scene. once everythig is in place (eventaully) i'll install either 3rd rail or OHLE or both...this will give a very wide range of stock to be able to run... thanks for looking Jack... lordhinton
hi great start!, i like the fencing, can i be cheeky and ask how they were made thanks dan
Jack00
Hi mate, thanks. Yeah sure, the fences are made from a big sheet of very fine mesh, B&Q jobbies, then just cut to desired height x length. with a bit of weathering/rust and overgrowth does the job Thanks, Jack .
