last built class 20 question

can anyone give me information on the last built (or batch) of the class 20 construction.

i always believed that 20227 was the last 20 built, however in class 20 photo file by pip dunn and martin loader there is a picture of class 20, 20228.

ive done a web search but to no avail, was 20228 a renumbered loco from the build? i know there were 228 class 20's built, but i assumed that as D8000 (20000) was numbered 20050, then that would account for the 228 loco's.

 

any help on the tops numbering ect or even a couple of pics, would be great,

D8000 became 20050

D8050 became 20128

D8128 became 20228

 

Seem to remember something about keeping similar styles of headcode box together.

20228 was the first of the later batch of class 20s, delivered as D8128 in January 1966. It looks like it moved to the end of the number sequence on TOPS renumbering and became 20228, following on from the last built D8327 / 20227.
