sse
hi all I wondered why quite a lot of track (Western Region) now has white paint (messily) applied to the side of it, seems to be most common around points but also on headshunts etc. Is it signifying old track due for replacement,or to increase visibility? Any ideas? Ta
RMweb Premium John M Upton Posted April 11, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 11, 2012 I think this one has come up before and one of the conclusions reached was that it was an attempt to try and reduce distortion caused by heat expantion in key locations, the white paint reflecting heat away, at least in theory.
