RSLR
Great stuff. If I may make a suggestion? The "car spraying" cameo would be a lot better if you could represent some "masking" on the Mini. It reminds me of an old friend having us all in fits of laughter as he told us how he resprayed his old Mini. Ed Cheers mate - it's just something I painted up, it's probably going on my next layout in a proper roadside garage but thanks for the suggestion
RSLR
Hi, Just a short and quick update this evening (well maybe not so short but plenty of pics!) I've tucked away the covered loading bay lighting wires, I'm going to paint them grey later on to represent conduit - aswell as that I've added a small fuse/switch box just to add abit of interest. Next up some lights... With the lights on! And... A rather classic photo with the lights off ^ Next just had this in the post today, it came in a job lot but I thought it would be pretty cool to fix it up with flushglaze and so on And to finnish up tonight I thought I might show a pic of one of the layout's many hidden details Hope you lot like And cheers again

RSLR
Good evening and Hello to all you railway modellers & rivet counters! It's been an interesting day at the BDMRC show today, it's been a while since I last logged onto RMweb - I've been busy and so I've got allot of catching up reading to do haha I can certainly see you lot have been very busy! anyway I thought I might put some pics up of my layout at the show so far for you guys to enjoy Setting up didn't take long - abit of meths, railzip and a track rubber we were running! As I'm sure you guys know but I'm next to Bill's 'Penhallick Junction' this year, so yes this is the best of China Clay layouts corner!! An 'empty' China Clay train arrives into West Fraddon sidings for loading! A yung boy railway enthusiast wearing a flatcap covered in steam themed badges came up to the layout today and pulled this rather odd but very attractive Locomotive out of his pocket, he calls this rather interesting loco 'The Shunter' - so then he asked if he could run it? Indeed I said yes as we always like visiting locomotives! And we was away, it was a little shuddery and sparky to start but when warmed up ran a treat! I even given it a quick clean and maintance and it ran even better! While I was doing that he wandered off and came back with this new purchase to go with it, it ran and looked even better! 'The Shunter' attracted quite abit of attention from like minded modellers and was described as a pocket size Class 37 It has also seem to have inspired some of the guys on the MCR group to have ago at chopping locos up for fun http://www.facebook....85345078174352/ So indeed that was certainly an interesting day and allot of fun! Hopefully we will see some of you guys tomorrow... oh and feel free to say hello! Cheers
treggyman
Hi RSLR Great to see you again & good to be 'next door'. Nice to see you working hard at the controls..... RSLR
Hi Bill, Cheers for the pic of playing trains haha Now... Once again Good evening to all you modellers & rivet counters!! I've got a few new photos for you lot to enjoy West Fraddon all set up ready for the gathering crowds! haha prepare for full length clay dries and DCC sound Rats on hoods!! West Fraddon get's it's very first exhibition plate! time to get the Brasso out While I was at the show I also bought a number of bargain items! A old mainline Railways class 03? was very cheap from a new friend at the show, it didn't run to start with although this evening I repaired it and it now runs very well! it seems to appear to have been expertly painted and some basic detailing added, it will make a great addition to the fleet! And this old 37 was £12 on the second hand stand probably will one day do something with it - can't hurt anything because it's old and cheap enough! Don't worry rivet counters! I did make a proper purchase at the show for this DBT I've been looking at getting one anyway to add to the collection - but did they get anywhere near Cornwall? RSLR
Hello everyone,I hope all is well with you rivet counters! It's been a very long time since I've done any kind of update so I thought I might fill you in on some of the goings ons here at the RSLR workshops.West Fraddon is in storage at the moment waiting for the weather to warm up a little so I can finally get that roof on the kiln and hopefully the layout will be attending the Hayle show in August later this year along with it's sister layout Bugle Road which is also in storage and waiting to be worked on.''ah but what have you been doing all this time'' I here you ask, well I've been busy working on a new layout for the B&DMRC (my local model railway club I attend) the new layout doesn't have a name yet and it's pretty far from complete but we are continuing the theme of Cornish China Clays and DCC.As well as doing all that that I've been continuing a few other little projects such as some loco detailing, wagons and the PDK kits Tender I uploaded above has now been assembled and is waiting to be painted, which for the job I have a whole new Iwata airbrush and the works to go with it. Other things are I've recently acquired a few DMUs including Lima 117s which I will be detailing lights, windows and other cool stuff (I will be keeping you up to date on that).I've also been working on a few other little projects for the club - theme of coal yards recently. I have also been working on some kits and investing in some of my other hobbiesHere's a few uninteresting pics so enjoy and I promise to keep more up to date with the thread in the coming months. This is the clubs latest DCC layout I will try not to give too much away but if you wish to keep up to date on it's progress please visit and join the Modelling Cornish Railways Facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/385345078174352/A coal lorry for Old Elms RoadA DC Kits 128Some cottages DCC fitting for friends Playing around with old modelsMilky bars ^A budget failbus umm I mean Dapol railbus I've fitted a motor and other stuff using just junk to make it work athough it works but it's far from your rivet counting standards perfect! I hope to one day get a proper chassis kit or something. To say some of what I've been up to is a little random and extensive, including some strange hobbies I've gone back to after years away. Now to you and probably most others who will veiw this page this will seem very strange (unless your abit of a Trekkie) this is the USS Voyager I'm also working on although just as detailed work I'm drilling out all the little windows of about 2mm x 1mm I also managed to dig out the USS Enterprise too Back to trains I've spent some time visiting my aunty watching some 66s and trains of CDAs And lastly I more recently whet to go see what was going on at the B&WR seeing things the public don't normally see! I hope to give my kettle a good run this summer too! I won't even go into what I've been doing in the garden hahaHope you've enjoyed the update and not bored you to death too much with pictures (sorry I like to speak with pictures)Cheers, Reece
