Wild Boar Fell
Hello, I am designing a MPD for my layout and I am hoping to take inspiration from this prototype, does anyone have and scale or rough plans or sketches or any clear photos showing this structure especially the roof and mainline side? Anything would be greatly appreciated, I am looking to model the style of the post 1957 roof but I would happily accept plans of the original as well. APOLLO
Some good photos / info here http://www.mywarring...ng_tracks_2.htm Shed entrance http://farm8.static.flickr.com/7183/6920456693_5efaba00e2.jpg Brit15
Wild Boar Fell
Thanks for those Apollo, they are great, unfortunately I cannot work out the scale of the sides such as height and width between buttresses, fortunately I can get the basic length and width from google earth as the outline of the building is still visible. BB17005
2 very good books which you may find useful :- Railway Memories No.9 Warrington , ISBN 1 871233 08 9 Bellcode Books Aside from a number of photos there is a 1964 layout drawing which clearly shows that only 9 out of the 10 available roads were actually used. I know that the manager parked his car on road 10 ! The Archive Photographs Series :- Warrington Railways ISBN 07524 0750 3 There is a plan from 1888 ! I set off with a full blown project in mind trying to incorporate the CLC Warrington Central goods avoider too ! needless to say I ran out of paper before I got to baseboard stage ! Wild Boar Fell
Hello, thanks both of you, I shall look into those books, also thanks Richard, yes it appears on Google earth so some rough details of length and width can be gained from that. Wild Boar Fell
A quick look on google street view reveals it to be owned by Clarcor UK, who manufacture filtration systems according to their website, http://www.clarcoruk.com/company_profile/index.htm The origional shed I believe is the black roofed building. Thanks for your links to photos, Regards, Wild Boar Fell
