The Dorset Wanderer
About 10am this morning, saw the Vulcan flying low just south of Farnborough- must have repaired the engines so stands a good chance of attending Bournemouth this year- superb sight! St. Simon
Hi, Just to Clarify, the Vulcan did not return to action at the Farnborough Air Show, it in fact returned to flight at the Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford the weekend before (the 7 / 8th July), I know this as I watched it take off on it's transit flight from Fairford to Farnborough, along with the Red Arrows: Plus I can confirm that all 4 of it's engines were in fine working order and were able to access all the power ranges! Fat Controller
not that low!!!!! I remember the one used for testing the Olympus engines for Concorde- that used to pass over my workplace in Avonmouth at about 1000', and the next few hours would be spent picking up machine parts that had been shaken off the racking.
