Fox EWS Transfers

According to Fox Transfers web site, they are to cease manu and supply of all EWS and EW&S brandings due to changes in the licence fees from the new owners of the EWS / EW&S trademarks. It's presumed other manu of these transfer brandings will also be affected ? As they can't now sell them, will any existing stock be offered free ? or just destroyed.

This was announced a couple of months ago and Fox withdrew (and I understand, destroyed) all their EWS transfer stocks with immediate effect. Even the paint ranges they stock have had to be renamed from EWS Red and EWS Gold to Wisconsin Red and Wisconsin Gold!!

 

Howes of Oxford still held some stocks of Fox EWS transfers for a short while afterwards until they were exhausted so there is an outside chance there may be a few packs lurking undetected out there in the wild somewhere.

 

Modelmaster at http://www.modelmast.../EWS_Decals.php still make them at least for the time being but for me there is a problem as their Class 66 numbers for the front ends are printed in maroon and not the correct black which Fox used to do.

 

All of this is extremely annoying and also explains why there are virtually no DB Schenker transfers to be had either. Hopefully some common sense will prevail eventually as at the moment we are facing a very major gap in the availability of decals for the current modern image scene.
