edcayton Posted August 22, 2012 Share Posted August 22, 2012 Despite the new server etc, I still find that more often than not my text comes out as italic, bold, underlined or scored (which one seems to be random), which is irritating to say the least. Miss Prism Posted August 23, 2012 Share Posted August 23, 2012 Generally, I find it ok, but on looking back over some previous posts, it seems that the new software can alter the appearance of previous posts that appeared normal at the time of posting. There are a pile of undocumented features under the 'remove format' and 'special BBCode' buttons, and it seems impossible to reveal the formatting codes that might become embedded in the posting box. The posting box seems very prone to picking up any formatting when pasting text other than from a plain text editor. The link parser in particular is rubbish. If the problem persists for normal text, I suggest highlighting all the text in the posting box and pressing 'remove format', which should I think clear any embedded funnies. Cutting and pasting from existing RMweb content can also be a problem, because that might have hidden embedded content, depending on its original source.
