I have noticed that currently different companies seem to have adopted RP25 as a standard profile with normally RP110 Tyre width, Bachmann seem to have this with a 0.030" depth of flange, is this normal as studying other manufacturers we seem to have:

Bachmann Class 105 RP110 with a 0.030" Flange Depth

Hornby HST RP110 with a 0.037" Flange Depth

Hornby Ringfield RP113 with a 0.037" Flange Depth

Heljan Class 17 RP110 with a 0.024" Flange Depth

Heljan Kestrel RP110 with a 0.027" Flange Depth

Heljan Railbus RP110 with a 0.027" Flange Depth

Murphy Models 141 RP110 with a 0.030" Flange Depth

Murphy Models 201 RP110 with a 0.037" Flange Depth

Dapol JIA Wagon RP110 with a 0.024" Flange Depth

Replica Railways 64'6" Chassis RP110 with a 0.027" Flange Depth

Old Lima 117 RP127 with a 0.045" Flange Depth

Romford RP110 with a 0.220" Depth

WHAT SHOULD THE FLANGE DEPTH ACTUALLY BE?

I accept that the older Hornby & Lima are 'Heavy' but the new stuff varies quire a lot too!

Flange depth for RP25/110 wheel profile is 0.028" (0.7mm) max. See: http://www.nmra.org/... 2010.02.24.pdf

Or 0.025" (0.65mm) nominal. See: http://www.nmra.org/...-25 2009.07.pdf

Note that Romford/Markits are RP25/100, not RP25/110

Martin.
