Highlandman
I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience in using the goods yard crane from the Thomas and Friends series. For examle converting and detailing it to use in another location or for another use. Has anyone resprayed or weathered this item?

For examle converting and detailing it to use in another location or for another use. Has anyone resprayed or weathered this item? The R9223 crane is the top of the old Triang R127/Hornby R6004 moblie crane that is discussed here http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/45589-trianghornby-r127-crane-conversion/ and here http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/43955-Hornby-r6004-crane/ its quite a good model, and if you want to turn the fixed crane into a mobile one, I have several spare chassis somewhere in the workshop. The jib is very vunerable to getting broken in the toybox, so most of mine have had repairs, alas the jib isn't available from East Kent Models as a spare, otherwise I would have had half a dozen. RMweb Gold 96701 Posted October 21, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 21, 2012 A quick Google search of Hornby Crane RMweb revealed this. http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/57232-recently-outshopped-from-the-cambridge-wagon-works/ As you can see the chains have been ditched and the much more protoypical wire ropes simulated.
