RMweb Gold beast66606 Posted October 27, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 27, 2012 As the title says, on this day, I was a pigeon 06 July 2002 - a day which started with a fairly normal visit to Liverpool docks to photograph coals and various wagons, a pleasant event happened whilst there (which will appear one day in my Liverpool docks thread), this meant I chased a 60 to Huyton to get photos of it passing the LNWR cabin, on returning we (there were three of us but I will refer to us as I for this purpose) were heading through Mossley Hill towards the railway when a coal went passed, heading by a pair of 56s (which even in 2002 was very rare), the decision was made to head to Edge Hill and then the docks. 56060 and 56067 head 6F78, 12:19, Fiddlers Ferry Power Station - Liverpool Bulk Terminal empty hoppers Bootle Branch Junction (Edge Hill) Then a mad dashlegal drive to the docks, this was when I still had my permit. Eventually the 56s arrived, this was a Saturday afternoon working which was also rare in those days, the regular shunter had gone home and so one of the supervisors had to be called out. Running around Time to propel the empties to the loader Then bring the train through the loader - notice the coal falling into the wagons. A kind lorry driver invited me to stand on the roof of his tractor unit ! Waiting to plunge - wonder who did that for this train ...
